Job summary

PDI is seeking a Senior Microbiologist to lead hands-on microbiology work from early development through product launch in a dynamic team. You will shape testing strategies, translate data into decisions, and mentor staff, including direct supervision of the Laboratory Technician.

The role emphasizes practical judgment, leadership, and collaboration across functions to deliver safe, high-quality products in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulated product development practices and quality expectations.
• Deep knowledge of applied microbiology: antimicrobial efficacy, bioburden, sterility, and sterilization.
• FDA/EPA/USP/ISO standards familiarity for microbiological testing.

Responsibilities

• Guide and lead microbiology testing strategies across development to launch.
• Supervise Laboratory Technician; provide coaching and performance evaluations.
• Mentor junior scientists and translate results into actionable recommendations.
