Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Audio Systems Engineer III in the Redmond or Sunnyvale offices to prototype and evaluate microphone arrays for Reality Labs wearable devices.

You will build proof-of-concept arrays, validate them via electroacoustic measurements, and collaborate with hardware and algorithm teams to ensure performance across use cases. The role requires hands-on mic-array prototyping, lab measurement experience, and scripting in Python or MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Acoustics and audio DSP fundamentals in practice, including filtering and transfer functions.
• Hands-on mic-array prototyping and measurement with lab equipment (Audio Precision, Bruel & Kjr).
• Basic scripting with Python or MATLAB to acquire, analyze, and visualize data.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate mic-array prototypes for wearable devices, including placement and recording setups.
• Plan and execute electroacoustic measurements in lab environments (anechoic/HATS).
• Run acoustic simulations of device-on-head scenarios to guide design choices.
• Compare simulated vs measured results and explain discrepancies.
• Develop Python/MATLAB tooling for data acquisition, analysis, and visualization.
• Document results and present findings to cross-functional partners.
