Job summary

Velocity Brooklyn Park is seeking a Senior Metrology Technician for the 2nd shift to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The role provides expert guidance on metrology systems and instrument repair, with on-site responsibilities and a 3:00pm–11:00pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Associates Degree in related field such as electronics technology, engineering, or a similar discipline.
• ASQ certification or equivalent desirable.
• 5 years’ experience in metrology-related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
• Proficiency in programming inspection equipment using Pc-Dmis, Zone3, MeasureX, and Microvu.
• Preferred CMM programming, GD&T.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision; solve practical problems with customers and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical and procedural advice for repair and modification of complex measurement equipment.
• Maintain and repair a variety of measurement instruments.
• Perform First Article inspection, capability studies and Gage R&R as defined on a print.
• Develop and implement new metrology processes and calibration procedures.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and other staff on metrology practices.
