Job summary

Southern California Edison in Westminster, CA seeks a Metering Systems Engineer 3 to advance AMI 2.0 testing, validation, and deployment.

You will collaborate with engineering, IT, grid, and field operations to ensure secure, interoperable metering systems and reliable performance.

The role emphasizes vendor coordination, field readiness, and support for next‑generation grid modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's in a scientific/technical/math field.
• Five or more years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead validation of AMI 2.0 metering solutions through detailed functional and communication performance testing.
• Lead end-to-end system integration testing between meters, head-end systems, networks and grid apps.
• Validate meter firmware, configurations and communication modules against defined requirements.
• Troubleshoot customer-facing apps, test tools, and field diagnostic tools and document resolutions.
• Develop procedures, job aids and field test protocols for Field Technicians and Meter Operations teams.
• Lead readiness assessments, training, and operational coordination for deployment.
