Job summary

Southern California Edison in Westminster, CA seeks a Metering Systems Engineer 2 to test and deploy AMI 2.0 metering solutions, ensuring interoperability, reliability, and field readiness across meters, head-end systems, networks, and grid applications.

You will collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations, develop procedures for field technicians, review vendor hardware, and support pre-deployment changes, with a hybrid work arrangement in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field.
• Two or more years of engineering work experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Valid Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and communication testing for AMI 2.0 metering solutions.
• Support end-to-end system integration testing among meters, head-end systems, networks, and grid apps.
• Validate meter firmware, configuration files, and communication modules (WI-SUN, LTE, Wi-Fi).
• Troubleshoot customer-facing applications and field test tools; document resolutions.
• Analyze test results, track defects, and contribute to corrective action plans.
