Job summary

YO AI Labs seeks experienced Senior Metallurgists and Welding Inspectors for a remote, contractor role supporting advanced manufacturing and materials engineering. You will evaluate materials, welds, coatings and LPBF components for AI training. AI experience is not required.

Requirements include 8+ years in relevant evaluation, CWI or equivalent, and strong knowledge of relevant standards. Independent work and thorough documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years evaluating micrographs, welds, coatings, or LPBF components.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, AMS, AWS, NADCAP, NACE/AMPP, SSPC standards.
• CWI certification or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate metallographic microstructures for material acceptance.
• Review heat treatment per AMS 2750 and ASTM E112.
• Assess weld quality via macro etch and CWI criteria.
• Inspect coatings per NACE/AMPP and SSPC.
• Disposition LPBF additive manufacturing defects.
• Provide documentation and technical reasoning for decisions.
• Apply applicable ASTM, AMS, AWS, NADCAP, NACE/AMPP, SSPC standards.
