Job summary

Qcells Georgia, Inc. is seeking a Sr. MES Engineer to drive Smart Factory initiatives in our Cartersville, GA facility.

The role focuses on designing, developing, and operating MES solutions to improve production efficiency and data-driven decision making. You will work cross-functionally with production, engineering, quality, and IT to optimize processes and ensure seamless system integration across ERP, PLCs, and automation devices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in the development and operation of MES solutions.
Experience in automation within high-tech industries such as solar and semiconductors.
Proficiency in MES software and equipment communication protocols (SEMI, OPC, PLC).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven insights.
Excellent verbal and written communication; able to convey technical info to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven project management experience from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement MES functions to optimize manufacturing processes and production efficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations within manufacturing operations.
Integrate MES with ERP, PLCs, AMR, and other systems for seamless data flow.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot MES applications, ensuring reliability.
Create training materials and conduct end-user training; maintain detailed MES documentation.
Lead MES and PI projects, managing scope, timelines, and budgets.
Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and IT to align MES initiatives with business goals.
Install IT hardware/software on-site and deliver equipment.
Perform and report on routine on-site checklists (daily, monthly, etc.).
Monitor system performance and analyze data to drive continuous improvements.
Design and develop transportation logic for logistics automation (AGV, OHT, robots).
Present on-site for emergency system issues as requested.
Handle IT-related administrative tasks as directed.
Provide 24/7 on-shop-floor production system support.
