Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Engineer IV, Merchandising Planning Delivery Lead to drive strategy, modernization, and delivery of merchandising planning technology solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of overall IT experience with at least 7 years working as an engineer.
• Experience leading large-scale technology implementations, modernization initiatives, or digital transformation programs.
• Experience working with SaaS based enterprise planning platforms, cloud-based applications, and integrated technology ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, roadmap, design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of merchandising planning technology solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings to improve planning capabilities and deliver business value.
• Provide technical leadership for planning platform modernization, application enhancements, integrations, analytics, and automation initiatives.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and develop scalable technology solutions that support planning and forecasting processes.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, development best practices, governance processes, and solution architectures.
• Lead solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support activities across planning technology platforms.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategies.
• Drive adoption of advanced analytics, automation, AI, and emerging technologies to improve planning effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Conduct technology assessments, capacity planning, and performance reviews to support current and future business needs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and Level 3 escalation point for critical production issues and platform support activities.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership to support team growth and development.
