A leading company is seeking a Senior Merchandise Planner to manage the planning process for merchandise categories. This role involves developing forecasts, analyzing sales data, and mentoring team members. The Senior Merchandise Planner manages the planning process and develops, executes, and communicates merchandise plans and forecasts for a specific merchandise category. The Senior Merchandise Planner will develop plans and forecasts for future merchandise buys based on historical sales, receiving buys, and current inventory levels. The role helps ensure planned sales, planned gross margin, and planned markdowns are achieved in each product division. They will be able to identify risks to the business and develop action plans in cooperation with the Divisional Merchandise Managers to mitigate inventory issues and maximize profitability. The Senior Merchandise Planner manages the Assortment Analyst position and acts as the lead in the
Merchandise Planning area.
