Job summary

Suffolk Construction seeks an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead day-to-day on-site MEP activities on complex projects in the United States. You will oversee field personnel, manage safety, quality, and schedules, and coordinate with project leadership and trade partners to meet contract requirements.

You will implement the project Baseline Schedule, drive progress with two-week look-ahead reports, ensure OSHA compliance, and maintain documentation critical to project success, including

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day MEP job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk supervisory principles.
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
• Establish effective working relationships with clients and Suffolk team members.
• Coordinate with the General Superintendent on materials, sequencing, scheduling and personnel.
• Develop start-up schedule with Project Manager and review with Project Executive and General Superintendent.
• Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.
• Maintain the baseline schedule to meet contract and client expectations.
• Provide two-week look-ahead progress reports to the Project Manager and field staff.
• Safety: ensure subcontractors participate in safety pre-construction meetings and have required safety docs.
• Quality Management: establish baseline benchmarks and ensure inspections occur per schedule.
• Subcontractor and Site Management: mobilize site, organize documentation, and manage subcontractor performance.
• Meeting Management: attend and chair safety, foremen, schedule review, closeout, and owner meetings.
