LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening for a Senior MEP Project Engineer for our client in the Orlando, FL area. This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a fast-paced engineering and architectural firm in the commercial construction industry! This on-site position requires a minimum of 10 years of current experience in an MEP project engineering role and prefers candidates with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and structural engineering. Engineer of record is required.

Salary range: $115-125k annually.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure completion of tasks by overseeing directives to technicians, vendors, and supervisors.
• Create designs for all phases – conceptual, schematic, development, and construction documentation.
• Oversee project budget, capex management, coordinate projects, initiate corrective actions, and forecast/analyze long-term operational downtime and issues.
• Lead design efforts and oversee junior engineer design efforts.
• Maintain compliance with building codes, zoning, etc.
• Prepare and present 3D modeling, renderings, and presentations to clients and regulatory divisions.
• Develop initiatives using a technical approach to oversee process resolution and continuous improvement for better production, cost reduction, and reliability.
• Oversee design projects; review project specifications; analyze designs; ensure monetary goals are met by performing preliminary and final reviews for construction projects.
• Manage the design team to support teamwork and development, providing technical leadership on maintenance issues.
• Consistently apply safe working policies and practices.
• Represent the organization professionally to vendors, clients, and agencies.
• Conduct on-site visits to oversee project progress.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical, electrical, fire, structural, or architectural engineering.
• Engineer of Record certification.
• Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP commercial construction design.
• Exceptional leadership skills, including situational and servant leadership, and the ability to create a vision for the department.
• Strong management and leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of engineering layout and design for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Structural/Architectural systems.
• Experience collaborating with mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, geotechnical, survey teams, etc.
• Proficiency in CAD programs.
