Job summary

Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. seeks an experienced Director of MEP Engineering & Operations to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Lock Shop functions for the Studio Lot and related properties.

This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective building infrastructure across ~1.1 million sq ft, 18 sound stages, and central plant facilities. The person will guide skilled trades through foremen, drive preventive maintenance programs, reviews designs and controls strategies, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities engineering, building operations, MEP operations, infrastructure, or related field, including leadership of multidisciplinary technical/skilled trades teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee MEP Operations, Reliability & Asset Management for Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Lock Shop; set priorities, standards, and performance expectations.
• Ensure safe, reliable operation and preventive/predictive maintenance of building systems, central plant, and field equipment; lead troubleshooting, quality control, reliability, and after-hours response.
• Review engineering designs, specifications, equipment selections, controls strategies; provide technical recommendations for new/modified systems.
• Lead BAS, energy-management systems, metering, automation; evaluate performance, troubleshoot, and drive improvements.
• Coordinate construction, renovation, and equipment-replacement projects; participate in design reviews, assess safety, lifecycle cost, energy performance, and compatibility.
• Lead turnover with as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, commissioning records, control sequences, asset records, and training transfer to Operations.
• Develop and maintain five-year MEP capital/MRP plan; forecast annual operating budgets; evaluate investments using lifecycle cost and energy performance.
• Support energy-efficiency, demand management, electrification, decarbonization, PV, metering, and sustainability initiatives across locations.
