Job summary

Thompson Holdings in Baton Rouge is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to perform field inspections and quality control across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial, industrial, institutional, and data center construction projects.

The MEP Inspector will verify installations meet approved drawings, specs, codes, and QA/QC requirements, with a focus on identifying deficiencies before they impact schedule or cost.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in MEP construction, inspection, or QA/QC.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, healthcare, or data center projects.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and submittals.
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of MEP installations.
• Review activities for compliance with plans, specs, and codes.
• Inspect MEP rough-ins, equipment, supports, penetrations, piping, ductwork, and electrical/plumbing systems.
• Verify installations before concealment and during testing.
• Document inspection results and corrective actions.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain project docs.
• Coordinate inspections with contractors and project team.
• Identify and communicate potential quality issues to PM.
