Job summary

Thompson Holdings is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to perform field inspections and QA/QC for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on diverse projects in the Jackson, MS area. The role emphasizes identifying deficiencies early, ensuring conformance with drawings, specs, codes, and ITPs, and documenting findings for project management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong field experience, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years MEP construction or QA/QC experience.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, data centers, or manufacturing projects.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specs, equipment schedules, and submittals.
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Experience documenting inspection results and deficiencies.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations.
• Review activities for compliance with plans, specs, submittals, and codes.
• Inspect rough-in, equipment installation, supports, penetrations, ductwork, and electrical/plumbing components.
• Verify equipment is correctly installed prior to concealment.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with contractors, engineers, and management.
• Identify deficiencies and track corrective actions through resolution.
• Assist with turnover documentation, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Promote safety and QA/QC culture on site.
