Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Memphis is seeking an experienced engineer to manage the mechanical and electrical systems on a major on-site project. The role focuses on delivering work safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents.

You will lead the project team, coordinate with subcontractors, owners, and consultants, maintain the schedule, manage changes, and mentor junior engineers to ensure quality and seamless turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering plus 4 years of relevant mechanical/electrical experience.
• Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems and their interrelation.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership to build a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, subcontractors, and owners to ensure alignment and efficient systems installation.
• Prepare and manage contract item lists to keep ROJ dates in line with the schedule.
• Participate in schedule updates and provide timely, accurate information.
• Evaluate and manage RFIs and change orders with budget awareness.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant MEP Engineers.
• Co-lead MEP coordination with the VDC Engineer to meet design and quality standards.
• Define scope of work documents with clear divisions of responsibility.
• Resolve conflicts between mechanical/electrical systems and site logistics.
• Oversee turnover, start-up, testing, commissioning, and closeout processes.
• Conduct regular project walkthroughs to verify conformance with documents.
