Job summary

Artheon is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design and implementation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a range of corporate, public, institutional, and infrastructure projects. You will work with clients, architects, and engineers to deliver practical, code-compliant solutions.

The role blends hands-on technical design with project leadership, mentoring junior staff, and guiding projects from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• New Jersey Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing HVAC systems.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable building codes.
• Experience providing construction administration and field engineering support.
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection system design.
• Experience working on municipal, institutional, educational, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for public, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate project requirements, technical constraints, and cost implications.
• Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
• Prepare mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, architectural, and structural professionals.
• Serve as a key technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Help drive projects from initial concept through final construction closeout.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control efforts.
