McFarland Construction in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to lead the planning, design, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial projects. You will ensure code compliance and collaborate with design teams, contractors, and field staff to deliver high-quality results.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of MEP experience, a relevant engineering degree, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in MEP engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platforms.
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate MEP designs and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and building codes.
• Support pre-construction efforts including scope development, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate installation and integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements.
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality of workmanship, progress, and compliance with approved drawings and standards.
• Identify and resolve MEP-related conflicts or issues in the field through proactive collaboration.
• Liaise with MEP subcontractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and execution.
• Monitor and report on the progress of MEP systems installation and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Assist in the review of RFI responses, submittals, and change orders related to MEP systems.
• Ensure safety and code compliance in all MEP installations.
