Job summary

Cumming Group in New Jersey is seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to lead design and construction phases for high-profile data center projects, onsite in NJ. You will manage mechanical and electrical engineers and coordinate with architects, contractors, and owners.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in MEP on large-scale construction, data center experience, and strong project management and communication skills. Licensed PE preferred; equal opportunity employer.

• Data Center project experience is highly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop rigorous analyses and reviews of consultant design and engineering.
• Manage mechanical and electrical engineers and construction managers deliverables.
• Review and comment on design drawings.
• Coordinate and manage on site engineering issues.
• Assist in the development and management of the project strategic plans and program initiatives.
• Act as Owner’s Advisor with primary responsibility for all phases of project.
• Provide MEP expertise to the project management team.
• Lead all elements related to contracts including negotiating, drafting and executing.
• Manage overall project budget and schedule; report to client on a regular basis.
• Lead proposal review, leveling and analysis and present to the client.
• Lead selection process for all consultants and vendors, including RFQ/RFP prep and negotiation.

Skilled MEP Designers or Project Managers from Engineering firms with strong organizational skills are ideal candidates. This position will be based on-site in New Jersey. Report to project team and client on a regular basis.Lead proposal review, leveling and analysis and present to the client.Lead selection process for all consultants and vendors, including preparation of RFQ/RFP, researching and comparing firms under consideration, and recommending and negotiating optimum business terms.
