Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting seeks an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial projects for a reputable mechanical contractor. The role focuses on coordinating HVAC, piping, plumbing, and other mechanical disciplines from preconstruction through turnover, with emphasis on safety, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management in mechanical construction.
• Direct experience with a mechanical contractor or MEP subcontractor.
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial mechanical projects.
• Strong ability to read drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and turnover.
• Maintain responsibility for project budget, schedule, profitability, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Review project plans, specs, contracts, and scopes to identify issues and opportunities.
• Lead project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution activities.
• Manage budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and financial reporting.
• Review and negotiate change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project docs.
• Coordinate with General Contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Work with Superintendents and field leadership to meet schedules and milestones.
• Monitor progress and address schedule, cost, manpower, material, and coordination issues.
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers as applicable.
• Ensure project docs are accurate and maintained throughout lifecycle.
• Participate in project meetings and updates to clients and senior leadership.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies before issues impact cost or schedule.
• Support preconstruction efforts, estimating, budgeting, and handoff as needed.
• Coordinate with BIM/VDC teams to ensure coordination and constructibility.
• Ensure projects are executed in line with safety and quality standards.
• Manage commissioning, startup, punch list, closeout, and turnover activities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
