Job summary

TAPCO Credit Union is hiring at its Main Branch in Tacoma for a full-time Member Service Representative role. You will greet members, process transactions, open accounts, and assist with loan applications in a collaborative, customer-first environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience working in a financial institution
• 1 year of cash handling experience
• 1 year of customer service experience
• New account and lending experience
• Must be eligible for and able to maintain bondability as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and professional experience by greeting members and assisting with all transaction needs accurately and efficiently
• Build and retain member relationships in person and via outbound calls with expert knowledge of credit union products and services
• Refer members to additional product solutions through informed conversations
• Balance cash drawer daily and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Support branch operations with drive‑up functions, night drop processing, and opening/closing duties
• Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including BSA and OFAC requirements as they relate to the job functions
• Collaborate across team and organizational levels to foster a positive workplace culture
• Engage in branch promotions and community events as assigned
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures
• Open and service complex accounts (consumer, business, CDs, IRAs, safe deposit boxes)
• Receive and process consumer loan applications, explain terms, and assist with documentation; cross-sell GAP, warranties, and payment protection
