Job summary

Forj Medical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop high‑reliability electromechanical medical devices. You will work cross‑functionally with engineers, clinicians, and suppliers to move concepts into production while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 6–9 years of experience with BS or 3–6 years with MS.
• Expert-level understanding of mechanical design, detailing, prototyping, DFMEA, fabrication processes, and testing for Class II/III medical devices.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proven project planning and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate electromechanical medical devices, including systems with instrumentation, fluid management, motion control, pneumatics, and power transmission.
• Collaborate with human factors engineers, designers, clinicians, and external partners to develop clinically relevant products.
• Design enclosures in compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead design reviews, technical analyses, and project definition; estimate costs and schedules.
• Apply statistical methods to assess manufacturability, reliability, and process capability.
• Define and perform testing, feasibility studies, verification, and validation activities.
• Provide technical direction to internal and external engineering teams.
