Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled electrician to work on medium and high voltage electrical distribution systems. You will terminate cables, splice medium voltage lines, install power feeds, and land connections on transformers and switchgear.

The role involves de-energizing lines, testing, grounding, and maintaining equipment in an industrial setting. You will collaborate with engineers and field technicians, demonstrating strong safety practices and the ability to work independently in the field.

Qualifications

• Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, or Apprentice Electrician is a plus but not a requirement
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electrical Technology, or military experience
• Certifications from major manufacturers such as 3M, Richards, and Hubbell for terminations
• Familiarity with Megger, Hi-Pot, VLF, Thumper, and TDR for cable testing
• Knowledge of testing transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
• Field experience in the industrial field with power and control systems
• Understanding of electrical schematics and controls
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Team-oriented, flexible, and willing to assist in other technical disciplines
• Hand and power tool capabilities
• Willingness to work hands-on in the field alongside engineers and field technicians
• Must clearly and effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing
• Must lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Should be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam when required
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic unannounced random drug tests
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa/work permit

Responsibilities

• Perform terminations for cabling and repairs on medium/high voltage distribution systems
• Perform cable splicing of medium voltage lines
• Install additional power feeds and land connections on transformers and switches
• De-energize high-voltage lines, test for voltage, and install grounding devices
• Assist with installation and maintenance of transformers, capacitors, insulators, and switches
• Locate and identify failed cables for repair
• Work on hot lines when necessary using appropriate equipment
• Follow OSHA and site safety practices and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by Site Management
• Work hands-on in the field alongside engineers and technicians
