Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics seeks an experienced medicinal chemist to advance drug discovery in a highly collaborative setting. The role emphasizes lead optimization, multivariant SAR analysis, and interfacing with AI-driven molecular generation, property predictions and bioassay data generation.

This on-site position is based at our San Diego Headquarters. The candidate will work with AI/ML and computational chemistry teams to design novel molecules and propel programs from leads toward candidates,

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS in chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry.
• Experience in small molecule drug discovery in biotech/pharma settings.
• Proven track record of advancing programs from leads to candidates.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to identify lead molecules and optimize potency, selectivity, and ADME.
• Execute high-quality ideas using modern organic chemistry and parallel experimentation.
• Collaborate with biology, pharmacology, computational chemistry, ADME, and other functions.
• Influence computational methods and leverage high-throughput experimentation.
• Work with AI/ML teams to develop predictive models for new molecules.
