Job Summary

Broward Health Medical Center is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist to join its Blood Bank team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Medical Technologist assists the laboratory manager, supervisor, or coordinator in overseeing and directing workflow while maintaining budgetary goals. The position establishes work priorities, organizes and assigns work, and supports quality patient care outcomes.

The successful candidate will perform complex routine and non-routine laboratory testing procedures and regularly verify the validity and accuracy of test results.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: Bachelor's degree obtained through a formal four-year program.

Experience

• Required: Two years of related experience.

Licensure

• Required: Florida Medical Technologist license.

Employees can enroll in medical, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefit plans within 30 days of hire. Coverage becomes effective on the first day of the month following the start date.

• 403(b) Retirement Plan: Contribute 5% and receive up to a 2.4% employer contribution from Broward Health.
• Pension Plan: Eligible after one year of service.
• Broward Health contributes 5% of your salary to the pension plan with no employee contribution required to receive the employer contribution.
• Fully vested after five years of service.

Paid Time Off

• 23 days per year to start
• Accrued biweekly
• Additional PTO increases after five years of service
• Available after a 90-day introductory period
• 5 days during the first six months
• Up to 15 days annually from six months through four years
