Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a scientific expert and strategic bridge to the external medical community, with emphasis on community-based care settings. You will build peer relationships, deliver balanced scientific data, and support education and research activities in a defined territory.

You will collaborate across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, and Strategic Account Management to align scientific strategy.

Qualifications

• Required: PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO in a relevant life science discipline; pharma/biotech fellowship preferred.
• 1–3 years' prior MSL experience within pharma/biotech industry.
• Scientific acumen with ability to critically evaluate and communicate complex clinical data.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to engage credibly in peer-to-peer dialogue.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and digital engagement platforms.
• Ability to travel up to 60-70% within assigned territory; must reside within territory.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, engage, and cultivate long-term relationships with EOLs, thought leaders, and HCPs in community and health system settings within a defined territory.
• Deliver accurate, balanced, and scientifically rigorous information on Alnylam's therapies through peer-to-peer scientific exchange.
• Engage HCPs in community practice settings in evidence-based dialogue, using relevant data to support diagnosis and treatment considerations.
• Support medical education initiatives, advisory boards, speaker programs, and clinical research activities addressing community providers.
• Gather, synthesize, and communicate medical insights from the field to internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, S.A.M.).
• Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from HCPs within 2 business days.
