Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Scheduling Specialist II to coordinate patient procedures and surgical schedules, including complex cases and add-ons. The role involves liaising with patients, physicians, and Insurance Verification Specialists to ensure timely authorizations and clearances across IR and Infusion services.

Responsibilities include coordinating pre-procedure tests, creating itineraries, performing clerical duties, and maintaining confidentiality in a high-volume health system environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years’ scheduling experience; infusion requires three years in healthcare scheduling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare database systems.
• Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Ability to interface with physicians, staff, vendors, patients and family members.
• Full understanding of medical insurance procedures.
• Basic keyboarding minimum 35 WPM.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient procedures and surgical schedules across IR and infusion.
• Collaborate with physicians, Insurance Verification Specialists, and multiple departments.
• Assist with pre-procedure diagnostic tests, clearances, and treatment plans.
• Create patient itineraries and update as requested.
• Provide clerical support, data entry, and chart preparation.
• Support the master schedule and manage case resource needs, in a high call volume setting.
