Job summary

Atrium Health Levine Cancer invites staff physicists to support clinical services for the Proton and Advanced Radiation Therapy Center (PARC) in uptown Charlotte. The team collaborates with physicians and medical staff to advance SBRT/SRS programs and implement AI-assisted planning and QA processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Medical Physics, ABMP/ABR or equivalent certification, and has proton therapy experience. Employment includes full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Medical Physics or related field.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in Medical Physicist Oncology position.
• Proton therapy experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery of non-standard, standard and complicated treatment planning and techniques including HDR, SRS and related modalities.
• Performs radiation surveys of patients exposed to radioactive sources and treatment rooms.
• Calibrates therapy machines and measures beam data for planning purposes.
• Leads troubleshooting with Medical Engineers and supports QA programs.
• Collaborates with physicians to optimize target delineation, modeling and planning.
• Assists with safety policies and accreditation activities.
