Job summary

Texas Oncology, a leading cancer care provider, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician Sr at the Dallas, TX location. The role entails performing specimen analysis, maintaining instruments, and ensuring quality control for moderate and high complexity tests.

The MLT will assist with phlebotomy, sample handling, and reporting results while adhering to QA policies and safety standards. Entry level with potential for growth within a large multi-site network.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical technology or lab science or related field.
• State license if required.
• Certification by AMT/ASCP or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Entry level position; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control for moderate and high complexity tests.
• Follow QA and safety policies; collect specimens and assist patient flow.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as ordered; prepare tests for reference labs when needed.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; document QC, calibrations, and reagent lot numbers.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure proper reporting of results.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of specimens and reports.
• Adhere to OSHA, regulatory standards, and confidentiality requirements.
