Job summary

NOVAIR USA North Tonawanda, NY is seeking a Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical, biomedical, aerospace, or electrical engineering. You will own product design from concept through production, creating 3D models, drawings, schematics, and BOMs using SolidWorks.

You will lead hands-on R&D, participate in DFMA initiatives, and support FDA 510(k) readiness when applicable, collaborating with sales, vendors, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality medical gas system products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on design engineering experience.
• Experience designing products from concept through production release.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485 and FDA 510(k) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design new products and redesign legacy products per sales specs.
• Create complete drawings and BOMs; produce 3D models and schematics.
• Lead R&D projects for new product development and cost reduction.
• Prepare Design History Files for FDA submissions when applicable.
• Drive DFM and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
