Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Senior Dosimetrist to lead the dosimetry team within Radiation Oncology. You will guide plan design, coordinate with physicians and therapists, and drive quality improvements across treatment planning and protection protocols.

The role requires CMD certification, a JRCERT-accredited program, and 3+ years of dosimetry experience. You will mentor staff, participate in QA initiatives, and ensure accurate dose delivery in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiation oncology and medical physics sufficient to derive computerized treatment plans.
• Communication with physicians for plan approval and therapists for implementation.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and current regulations.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize workflow.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Dosimetrist in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dosimetry clinical operations with Medical Physics.
• Lead, mentor and guide the dosimetry staff per standards.
• Monitor planning workflows to ensure timely treatment starts.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
• Design plans to deliver prescribed dose and optimize field placement.
• Document dose calculations and verify accuracy with the Medical Physicist.
• Assist in brachytherapy planning and dose distributions.
• Teach dosimetry to students and residents; pursue continuing education.
