Job summary

Avetix TIC in Greater Boston, MA, is seeking a Senior/Staff Medical Device Test Engineer to lead complex IEC 60601 safety testing projects. You will act as a technical authority for clients and colleagues while supporting project delivery and client relationships.

The role requires extensive hands-on IEC 60601 experience, laser safety knowledge, and a track record of mentoring engineers. Expect ~10–15% local travel.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IEC 60601 is essential.
• Experience with laser safety IEC 60825 is preferred.
• Semiconductor safety or functional safety experience is a plus.
• 10+ years in product safety testing, compliance or certification.
• Experience coaching or leading engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead medical device safety testing projects to IEC 60601 and related standards.
• Act as technical authority for clients and testing programs.
• Support day-to-day running of the medical testing business including project management and client relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Travel locally to client sites (~10–15%).
