Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to advance cybersecurity for Surgical Operating Unit medical devices. You will drive threat modeling, secure design, and risk mitigation across the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an onsite setting.

Responsibilities include leading security architecture, coordinating testing, and mentoring engineers to elevate security posture. U.S. work authorization required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 4+ years in cybersecurity, product security, software security, embedded systems security, or medical device security.
• Experience conducting threat modeling, cybersecurity risk assessments, and risk mitigation activities.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity practices into a secure product development lifecycle.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, static/dynamic analysis, or application security testing.
• Experience developing or evaluating security architectures for connected products.

Responsibilities

• Drive security strategy and continuous learning for medical devices and health software.
• Integrate secure development lifecycle across concept to postmarket stages.
• Lead threat modeling sessions and risk assessments per IEC 81001-5-1, ISO 14971, FDA guidance.
• Design secure architectures: secure boot, secure communications, data protection, access control, updates.
• Coordinate vulnerability testing and risk mitigation with internal and external teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote security awareness across R&D.
