Job summary

Laborie is seeking a Senior R&D Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of new product development from concept to commercialization. This role drives cross-functional alignment and ensures compliance with design controls, QMS, and regulatory standards while managing budgets and risks.

The ideal candidate brings a B.S. in engineering, 3–5 years in R&D and 5–7 years in project management, plus experience in regulated medical devices and design transfers. Travel up to 35% is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or STEM, 3–5 years in R&D and product/process development, plus 5–7 years of PM experience.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects with cross-functional teams within scope, budget and timeline.
• Design transfer planning for contract design and manufacturing streams.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to lead without direct authority.
• Proficiency with PM tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
• Excellent presentation and communication with technical and non-technical leadership.
• Experience in highly regulated environments – medical device, life sciences, aerospace.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, EU MDR, and GMP/QMS documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver cross-functional projects from concept through commercialization and post-launch support.
• Define project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, success criteria, and resources.
• Drive execution across all project phases with stage-gate processes and QMS/regulatory standards.
• Develop integrated project plans; manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and decisions.
• Maintain cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignment for milestone delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project execution.
