Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Vision in Jacksonville, FL is recruiting for a Senior Package Engineer to lead packaging design, development, validation, and maintenance of medical device packaging systems across products.

This role focuses on sterile and non-sterile packaging, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting labeling and production needs at multiple sites. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional work experience.
• Experience in Package Engineering.
• Demonstrated ISO 11607-1:2019 and ISO 11607-2:2019 knowledge.
• Knowledge of Human Factors and Usability testing for labeling content.
• Experience with FDA and/or notified body audits in packaging engineering.
• Technical lead experience is a plus.
• Good communication and collaboration with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develops, coordinates, and directs projects of major scope and importance.
• Qualify packaging components and packaging systems for R&D/Packaging projects.
• Generate valid, creative packaging solutions using core engineering knowledge.
• Resolve packaging design, development, and process issues with cost/resource awareness.
• Lead packaging/labeling improvement projects and oversee packaging system validation.
• Determine packaging specifications considering product needs, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• Design package exteriors for product identification, sales appeal, and producibility.
• Contribute innovations and new techniques in packaging engineering.
