Job summary

AtriCure, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, qualification, verification and validation of manufacturing processes for market-leading medical devices.

You will review designs, tolerances, assemblies and tooling, drive process capability, Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and collaborate with suppliers to deliver cost-effective, robust production capable of supporting patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field) required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 6+ years of experience in a comparable position.
• Able to function as lead manufacturing engineer for product development teams with minimal guidance.
• Demonstrates proficiency in selection and qualification of manufacturing processes.
• Able to review product designs relative to achievable component and system tolerances.
• Demonstrates proficiency in coordinating the design and development of equipment and fixtures.
• Able to review proposed component tolerances and input to manufacturing capability.
• Familiar with manufacturing documentation and quality system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review component designs and identify Design for Manufacturing opportunities and optimal molding/assembly approaches.
• Review tolerances and input to manufacturing capability; apply GD&T.
• Oversee assembly techniques including laser welding, ultrasonic welding, and adhesive bonding; ensure error-proofing.
• Provide input to system test requirements for production.
• Define high-level manufacturing system/flow and supplier selection.
• Coordinate parts fabrication and tooling; manage schedules and costs.
• Document processes and create qualification protocols and reports.
