Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Six years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s, four years with a master’s, or two years with a doctorate.
• Experience developing firmware within the medical device industry.
• Proficiency in developing bare-metal firmware for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers.
• Demonstrated ability to document firmware development deliverables per IEC 62304 and FDA guidance.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Proven ability to lead firmware development teams using Agile methodologies.
• Experience collaborating on cross-functional engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, documentation, testing and support of medical device firmware.
• Communicate project status, progress and risks to stakeholders regularly.
• Assign tasks, prioritize, and track team progress using Agile methods.
• Document firmware development activities per procedures and standards.
• Analyze and verify firmware and system requirements with best practices.
• Identify and implement process improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers in hardware and firmware practices.
• Participate in design and development reviews for quality and compliance.
