Job summary

Orchard, a leading medical communications agency, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Copywriter to join our dynamic team, supporting our US pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing compelling and accurate medical content for a diverse range of clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Note on working arrangements: Role is remote, however some travel to New Jersey, USA, may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or PhD in sciences discipline.
• 5 years + medical writing experience.
• HCP pharmaceutical advertising agency experience.
• Expertise in claim development and substantiation.
• Strong understanding of FDA promotional regulations and the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Health Care Professionals.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex medical/scientific concepts into clear, concise copy.
• Create branded HCP campaign materials including websites, detail aids, leave behinds, emails.
• Create HCP medical education campaign materials including slide decks, invites, workbooks, and other collateral.
• Lead brands from both strategy and copy perspectives with minimal oversight.
• Drive the editorial process from first draft to final proof; ensure accuracy and quality.
• Partner with design, strategy, account, and project management teams.
• Ensure all content is on-brand and compliant with US regulatory and industry standards.
• Drive copy and strategic perspectives in client meetings.
• Manage competing priorities.
• Play a key role in researching and developing content for proposals and pitch presentations.
• Stay up to date on current trends in medical education and the US pharma industry.

• Candidates must have indepth knowledge of US regulations, includingFDA promotional regulations and the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Health Care Professionals

Qualifications

About you

• Graduate degree or PhD in sciences discipline
• 5 years + medical writing experience
• HCP pharmaceutical advertising agency experience
• Expertise in claim development and substantiation
• Comfort working across multiple therapeutic areas and lifecycle stages (pre‑launch to brand maintenance)
• Have strong presentation and pitching experience
• Clear understanding of FDA promotional regulations and the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Health Care Professionals
• Highly proficient with Veeva/PromoMats
• Meticulous attention to detail, quality, and version control
• Strong time management in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
