Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of creditable experience in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medical coding, and health records structure.
• Associate degree with major in health information technology/health information management or related field with 12 credit hours in HIM.
• Completion of AHIMA/AAPC coding program or equivalent training leading to coding certification eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Audit outpatient and inpatient encounters to assign current ICD/ CPT/ HCPCS codes.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
• Prepare audit reports and provide guidance to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
