Job summary

You will assign alpha-numeric codes for diagnoses and procedures across hospital, physician offices, multi-specialty clinics and specialty centers. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and formal coding training with certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and medical coding.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding program with eligibility for certification.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on regulations, policy, coding requirements and sequencing.
• Consult with clinical staff for clarification of data related to coding.
• Audit coded data for accuracy and completeness; review ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Develop guidelines to improve data quality and compliance; train staff on coding practices.
