Job summary

You will code patient records with ICD-10-CM and CPT, review codes for accuracy, interact with physicians as needed, and uphold high productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Requires CCS credential (Certified Coding Specialist)
• Preferred: CPCA (Certified Professional Coder)
• Preferred: RHIH/RHIA credentials from AHIMA/other bodies

Responsibilities

• Codes patient medical records
• Supports coding function in assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT codes and in using HIM software
• Maintains coding skills and participates in quality/productivity reviews
• Reviews and verifies codes and data prior to completion; handles billing questions
• Interacts with physicians when necessary
