Baptist Health System, Inc. is hiring a Senior Coder to join our Physician Billing Office team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day shift remote opportunity approved for several states.

You will apply CPT and ICD-10-CM codes, perform E/M coding, and maintain awareness of regulatory guidelines across diverse specialties. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of physician coding experience, including CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS, and CPC or equivalent certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of physician coding experience including CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS.
• 3–5 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience.
• 3–5 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1–2 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
• 1–2 years of surgical/invasive coding experience.
• Specialty-specific coding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes accurately across services and procedures.
• Perform E/M coding in line with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Code outpatient procedures for multiple specialties and surgeries.
• Review documentation to ensure compliant coding per state and federal guidance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for coding questions and complex scenarios.
• Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and industry standards.
