Job summary

Providence is seeking a credentialed coder/abstractor to assign DRGs, APCs, ICD-10 and CPT codes across inpatient and outpatient settings at St. Mary Medical Center.

The role requires knowledge of AHA and UHDDS guidelines and coding for a wide range of case types, including inpatient, ER, Same Day Surgery and Observation. Required qualifications include national certification from AAPC or AHIMA and at least one year of acute care coding experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CPT and ICD-10-CM acute care hospital coding experience.
• National certification from AAPC or AHIMA required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Assign DRGs, APCs, ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient accounts across inpatient and outpatient types (ER, same day surgery, observation).
• Adhere to AHA and UHDDS guidelines and ensure accurate abstracting and coding.
• Contribute to data integrity and supporting accurate billing and reporting.
