Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and five years of professional medical coding experience.
• Experience in two or three clinical specialties.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) / AAPC or CCS-P required.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and payer guidelines; EPIC and EHR experience.

Responsibilities

• CHARGE ENTRY/REVIEW: Review CPT/ICD-10 accuracy and fix claim edits; optimize E/M levels.
• CHART REVIEW: Provide feedback to clinical teams and advise on documentation improvement.
• EDUCATION AND CODING COMPLIANCE: Educate providers on documentation and coding compliance; stay updated on coding changes.
• CLAIMS & REIMBURSEMENT MANAGEMENT: Track denials, improve workflow to ensure clean claims.
