Job summary

This remote position becomes available after successful on-site training. The candidate will collaborate with faculty and clinicians, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate reimbursement while maintaining high coding

Qualifications

• Able to code using CPT and ICD-10 accurately.
• Experience with EPIC billing system.
• Strong data entry and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Reviews practitioner notes in EPIC for billable services across inpatients and outpatients.
• Applies CPT and ICD-10 codes and ensures proper attestations and documentation.
• Enter charges into EPIC accurately.
• Resolve billing system edits to ensure clean claims.
• Address denials promptly and research issues for resolution.
• Identify trends in rejections and propose process improvements.
• Research coding guidance from resources and guidelines.
• Inform supervisor of issues impacting coding/reimbursement.
• Attend coding dept meetings and continuing education to maintain credentials.
• Coordinate with billing staff to manage workload and provide coverage.
• Liaise with Department of Medicine, UFP, compliance, and physicians.
