Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with Windows-based technologies.
• Ability to protect patient PHI and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and correct claims to pass from the EMR to clearinghouse.
• Post charges and complete claims to payers in a timely fashion.
• Resolve patient accounts by correcting billing edits and rejections.
• Navigate portals to send claims for adjudication.
• Prepare invoices for third party payers.
• Prepare enrollments to send claims through clearinghouse.
• Analyze trends to reduce claim denials.
• Communicate clearly with assigned staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to team members and patients.
• Meet deadlines, especially during end-of-month closings.
• Support team in achieving productivity targets.
• Participate in ongoing educational activities related to duties.
