Job summary

• Equivalency options: RN Adult Health Nursing coursework with placement, or two semesters LPN coursework with placements, or four years of on-the-job hospital experience; RN or LPN may be considered equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients, families, and health care team in courteous and professional manner.
• Obtains and records vital signs, prevention data, medications, chief complaints; reports adverse observations to RN or practitioner.
• Prepares room and instruments; assists practitioner or RN with a wide variety of procedures and tests.
• Collects, labels and processes specimens; performs point-of-care laboratory tests as authorized.
• Documents patient care interactions and translates data into electronic records for billing and clinical reporting.
