Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of post high school medical assisting program, military medical specialist training, or completion of two year on-the-job training in medical assisting/nursing aide upon hire.
• Fully qualified RN or LPN may also be considered as equivalent to education and training listed above.
• Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assists practitioners with a wide range of patient care procedures and tests.
• Transcribes patient data into electronic systems using ICD-9 and CPT codes for billing and clinical data reporting.
• Maintains exam rooms, prepares instruments, and ensures supplies are stocked.
• Coordinates with nursing supervisor and clerical staff to obtain authorizations and schedule procedures.
• Documents patient care interactions and communications and ensures patient privacy and safety.
