Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant for its OBGYN practice in Creve Coeur. This full-time role involves outpatient care, supporting physicians, and delivering patient services in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, vital signs, and EMS/PHI-compliant charting while assisting in exams and procedures. Mileage reimbursement is available for required travel to Lake St. Louis, with no on-call, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of outpatient medical assisting experience.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains charting.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, share results with patients and relay information to providers.
• Assist provider by preparing patients for exams and procedures.

Role Purpose

Provides patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed professional. Performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures. Serves as an experienced role model in a functional area within a practice, such as lab testing, OSHA/CLIA compliance, electronic health record management, specialty practice medical assisting, medical supplies management, or functional cross-training for other positions within the practice.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
• Assists provider by preparing patients for exams, procedures and treatments.
