Job summary

Optum NJ, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Rutherford, NJ. The Senior Medical Assistant will work independently to provide care to patients, coordinating with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery and active patient participation in planning and care.

You will perform patient-oriented procedures, assist physicians with exams, and cross-train with front office to support workflow. This role offers excellent benefits, PTO, and 401K along with career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or National MA Certification from NAHP/NCCT/AAMA/AMT/NHA.
• Cross trained in front office duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-oriented procedures under the MA scope of practice.
• Cross trained with front office to support workflow.
• Assist physician or other provider with clinical procedures.
• Prepare e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies when instructed by physician.
• Inspects, cleans/prepares and processes instruments/equipment as per guidelines.
