Optum is seeking a Medical Assistant - Pediatrics to join our team in Rutherford, NJ. The role involves preparing examination rooms, rooming patients and performing routine clinical tasks under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office, clinic or hospital setting.
• Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT or NHA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Room patients, take health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient care using EMR software.
• Schedule appointments, handle prior authorizations, process refills and referrals.
• Assist physicians and other providers with minor, in-office procedures.
